Our History

Schueler, LaFond and Associates began over 30 years ago as the Robert Cary Group and the Dick Heustis Group. Twenty-one years ago, the two companies merged to form Cary, Heustis and Associates. In 1987 Jim Herta, Bob Schueler and Russell Spry purchased the company and in 1997 Dan LaFond joined the agency, purchasing Jim Herta’s shares of the company to form Schueler, LaFond, Spry and Associates. The company has a long history of success in the sporting goods industry and has won many awards from both manufacturers and customers. The group is presently known as SLA Outdoors and the corporate office is maintained by a full time staff based in Neenah, WI.
